Hey, Tom. That Cross Creek area is one of my favorite bike rides in FL- thanks for sharing. I spent lots of time exploring there while living in Gainesville...I wonder how it has changed in 20 years...much land development? This is the same time that I began reading Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings which then led me to explorations of other authors of old Florida.
Great to hear you are doing so well. You look happy and healthy!
And by the way, the road kill in FL is so much greater than any other place I have lived. We do see dead cats and chickens here fairly often in HI, but none of my experiences in the 7 states I have lived approach the volume of turtles, birds, raccoons, dear, snakes, etc that I always found on the roads of FL.

Hey T. Keep the strong riding going man. Kudos to you. Also, will send the link for this blog to Tracey. I am sure she knows the guy in the B3 shirt. We have been to his place for food and beer a couple of times.

Your bud,

It's definitely very white western classist male in its perspective. There are a lot of assumptions that are privilege based. I keep remembering that drawing where they talk about the brains of modern man as opposed to serfs in the middle ages as opposed to primitive human. There are massive assumptions there based in denial. Serfs were a middle age phenomenon. There are no serfs today. We are not modern day serfs. Primitive man thought about food and sex among other things. Humans today don't think about those things as a baseline. We're all well educated and therefore thinking about apps much more than about sex. heh. Okay. But it's still an interesting idea. Thanks for posting it. :)

I read your NC blog, surprise. Got some ideas for maybe using a blog for my online course so I figured I better try it. Dude, the cabin looks great, but a bit naked w/o the big tulip poplar. New roof sure shines. Man, you scored some forest edibles for sure--nice berries and oysters. Okay, I wrote in a blog so that's it for now.

I come up again on the 17th for a symposium on the 18th. Maybe we can ride one of those days--the defib awaits me. Got a shirt to bring from the Great Divide brewery. I believe, do you?

BTW: Edit what you write better. The NC entry needs some polishing.

See you soon my friend.
